There is an 8-foot-wide (2.4 m) sidewalk running the length of Fleming Island, providing about 7 miles of walking, jogging and biking. Black Creek Park on the south end of the Fleming Island borders Black Creek and provide some of the best natural trails for bikers and hikers.

On the north end of Fleming Island, just off highway 17 on Westover road is Moccasin Slough park. This park was owned by the Pace family and is a great place for nature lovers. The Pace family created a canal that runs almost all the way to Doctors Lake. The canal is a great place for area residents, enjoy the full extent of the canal in their canoe or small boat.

If you are a fan of history visit the Holly Cottage, this building is located between the banks of the St. Johns River and Old Church Road. The cottage built around 1898, was once part of Fleming family resort. The cottage was one of several buildings at the resort, which included gardens, a tennis court and a golf course, this cottage was a popular tourist destination operated by the Fleming family.

Eagle Harbor Golf Club in Fleming Island, this 18-hole course was designed by award-winning course architect Clyde B. Johnston. The fairways are narrow and tree lined and have extensive water hazards. To be successful on this course a golfer must select the proper clubs and have accurate tee shots. The Fleming Island Plantation Golf Club was designed by Bobby Weed, an 18-hole course that meanders through Fleming Island Plantation. The course is a Par 71 and is 6801 yards long and is a very challenging course with lots of water and sand traps. This course will challenge even the best golfers.

The front nine on the course is wide open with waste areas and water creating a links feel. The back nine has dense forests lining the fairways. To make the course challenging you will discover sand bunkers and a lot of water that will come into play during your round. The course has 5 sets of tees that will accommodate all skill levels.
