Known as the “Bass Capital” of the world Crescent City FL is a small town in Putnam County located between two beautiful lakes in Northeast Florida. The city is just 28 miles north of Deland and 23 miles south of Palatka on US Highway 17. The city is on the shore of one of the largest lakes in Florida. The lake is called Crescent Lake and it has a direct connection to the St Johns. River. Located just to the west of Crescent City is Lake Stella, this lake is known for its’ paddling trail along with a public swimming beach. The town of Crescent City was incorporated in 1885, today it still has its historic Florida charm. Adding to the history of Crescent City is the fact was the birth place for A. Philip Randolph in 1889. He was the founder of the Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters.
